EDIT: I would eat here 10x more often if they were available on Grubhub, Uber Eats, Door Dash...literally any deliver service. For anyone like me that has a couple of key questions to ask a restaurant when trying to determine if by "mediterranean" they mean Greek and not middle eastern...this places uses legit arabic pickles and they make their own pita bread. If you are familiar with palestinian/south lebanese food then you are in for a treat! This food is like my Umptu Aliya made for me in Dearborn...it's SO GOOD. I am so happy I stumbled across this gem in Peoria, IL. What a find!

Literally the BEST Mediterranean food in Peoria and surrounding. The remodel since last year is stunning. Great customer service, excellent food and friendly owners & chef.

We love this restaurant ! Chef moussa is great! We dined in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Chef moussa recently renovated the dining area! We ordered a chicken shawarma platter with fries and hummus with no oil. We also added a side of cucumbers with a glass of water and can of Dr. Pepper. The shawarma is moist and flavorful! The fries dipped in some hummus is delightful! We keep coming back! We listened to other customers order while we waited for our lunch. A lot of customers ordered the Greek salad. We asked chef moussa what was in the Greek salad and added a lot customers are ordering the Greek salad. He treated us to a sample size portion of the Greek salad! The dressing was really good!! I can see why people love the Greek salad! We may try the Greek salad next time!

We eat here almost weekly and typically order extra to take home. The chicken shwarma is consistently delicious - our favorite menu item. Best pita (served warm) and hummus in the area hands down. Chef and his family are very kind and will make you feel welcome.

If you ever stumble across a 5* review on Yelp, you best check it out. I am happy to say Chef Moussa lives up to every star! GYRO PLATE SO fresh and flavorful! Literally unlike any experience I've had in my 40-some years of life. Even the raved reviews of Papagus in Barrington pales in comparison to this experience. CHICKEN SHAWARMA WRAP Delicious and easy two meals if you only eat half. Focus on the fresh pita, sides, and drink; you're good for another lunch later in the week. The lively vibe and timely delivery of freshly cooked ingredients (such as pita--that I should warn you--are served AFTER the meal arrives) were on point. We absolutely LOVED our meal and were even more happy with the reminders of this experience as we snacked on the dessert tub available at checkout. I hear what other Yelpers are struggling with as the youngest family members are now stepping in to help. That being said, I completely agree with Yelper, Jason P. who acknowledged the youngest daughter took their "order and rang us up like boss".

Great first experience here. Chef treated us well and was very patient and kind to us, knowing it was our first time. Place was very home-y and inviting, won't win any decor awards but was welcoming in a family way, Mattie of fact his sons was getting a chess lesson beside us. The food was very fresh and filling, something we appreciated- couldn't finish it all and ended up eating the rest for dinner. Would def go back to see Chef Moussa!

Nice enough ambiance and the food was solid across the board. Service was prompt and the young daughter (I am guessing) of this family owned restaurant took my wife, step son and our order and rang us up like a boss. Seriously, this kid is going places and I asked her to submit her resume to the Department of Education so she could show them how to teach children in public schools such that they actually knew how to read and do math at grade level. The joke went over her head...because she's probably 12 years old. Anyway, my gyro salad was good and my wife enjoyed her vegetarian dish. The food wasn't expensive and portions were sufficiently large to take home a second meal. I don't wish to be in Peoria much but will go back to Chef Moussa again for sure.

This place is the real deal! I ordered the mixed shawarma plate with gyros, chicken shawarma, rice, and hummus. The pita bread was served fresh with the meal too!! The service was awesome too, with the owner taking our order and the food coming out pretty quick! The inside of the restaurant was also really comfy and with plenty of seats/tables for groups. Definitely try it out, you won't regret it!
